THE RAMBAMS THIRTEEN PRINCIPLES

THE RAMBAM'S THIRTEEN PRINCIPLES OF JEWISH FAITH: (As quoted from the Orthodox Union of America)
  1. I believe with perfect faith that G-d is the Creator and Ruler of all things. He alone has made, does make, and will make all things.

  2. I believe with perfect faith that G-d is One. There is no unity that is in any way like His. He alone is our G-d He was, He is, and He will be.

  3. I believe with perfect faith that G-d does not have a body. physical concepts do not apply to Him. There is nothing whatsoever that resembles Him at all.

  4. I believe with perfect faith that G-d is first and last.

  5. I believe with perfect faith that it is only proper to pray to G-d. One may not pray to anyone or anything else.

  6. I believe with prefect faith that all the words of the prophets are true.

  7. I believe with perfect faith that the prophecy of Moses is absolutely true. He was the chief of all prophets, both before and after Him.

  8. I believe with perfect faith that the entire Torah that we now have is that which was given to Moses.

  9. I believe with perfect faith that this Torah will not be changed, and that there will never be another given by G-d.

  10. I believe with perfect faith that G-d knows all of man's deeds and thoughts. It is thus written (Psalm 33:15), "He has molded every heart together, He understands what each one does."

  11. I believe with perfect faith tha G-d rewards those who keep His commandments, and punishes those who transgress Him.

  12. I believe with perfect faith in the coming of the Messiah. How long it takes, I will await His coming every day.

  13. I believe with perfect faith that the dead will be brought back to life when G-d wills it to happen.

No my soul is not asleep

No my soul is not asleep.
It is awake, wide awake.
It neither sleeps nor dreams, but watches,
Its clear eyes open,
Far-off things, and listens
At the shores of the great silence.

We must know God

We must know God

The scriptures inform us that Jesus said, as the Father hath power in himself, even so hath the Son power__to do What? Why, what the Father did. The answer is obvious, in a manner to lay down his body and take it up again. Jesus what are you going to do?
To lay down my life as my Father did, and take it up again. Do you believe it? If you do not believe it you do not believe the Bible…Here then, is eternal life, to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be gods yourself…the same as all gods have done before you, namely by going from one small degree to another…from grace to grace, from exaltation to exaltation, until you attain to the resurrection of the dead…       DHC Vol 6 Page 305-306

first principle of the Gospel

first principle of the gospel
It is the first principle of the gospel to know for a certainty the character of God, and to know that we may converse with him as one man converses with another, and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did;    DHC Vol 6, page 305

Life is a mystery play

Life is a mystery play. Its players are cosmic principles wearing the mortal masks of mountain and man. We have only to lift the masks which cloak us to find at last the immortal gods who walk in our image across the stage.

THE BLACKOUT BOMB

THE BLACKOUT BOMBby John LewallenIF AND WHEN our nuclear-armed adversaries decide military conflict with the US is imminent, our information civilization could turn off like a light unplugged--a nuclear explosion melting most of the integrated circuits nationwide. A megaton-class, thermonuclear explosion about 250 miles over Omaha, Nebraska, would emit an Electromagnetic Pulse large enough and strong enough to collapse information society from coast to coast at the speed of light. You wouldn't feel anything. It would come and go in less than a second, a massive radio wave, everywhere at once. Picked up by copper wires and carried to the extremely vulnerable integrated circuits at switching centers, the explosion would guarantee that there will be no official announcement of what has happened.
WE ARE ALL BOZOS ON THIS BUS
Thanks to God, Blessed be his name, That we have been given this incredible world to live in. Can we see through His eyes? Look up, there is no end to the wonders and miracles that are here for our benefit. Enjoy

You must accept the teaching of Christ

"You must accept the teachings of Christ and follow them. Christ said to be like a little child-never think or speak anything, that could harm anyone ....... He was crucified so that his spirit could spread throughout the world . He sacrificed his body for the dharma. He never died, he never died. He is Atman (The Soul) living in the hearts of all........Why was Christ so maligned?" Maharajji was asked."It is so with all saints, they see only love in everyone. You should not speak, hear or do evil. You should see love everywhere and in everyone. See the good in all."
excerpts from Miracle of Love Stories about Neem Karoli Baba by Ram Dass

Become drunk O mind

"Become drunk, O mind, with the wine of bliss. Fall upon the sacred earth weeping and chanting the holy name. Fill space with your lion's roar,  whirling round and round, both arms raised high, giving away the mahamantra to all conscious beings. Transform limited desire into the radiance of Krishna, and swim night and day in the wild sea of rapture. The universe is now submerged beneath the waves of ecstatic love". -Ramakrishna

Non Co-operation with evil

"Mine is not a religion of the prison house. It has room for the least among God's creations. But it is a proof against insolence, pride of race, religion and color. "
"Bravery is not a quality of the body, it is of the soul."
"Non Co-operation with evil is as much a duty as co-operation with good."
"Human dignity demands the courage to defend oneself."
"...for me, the road to salvation lies through incessant toil in the service of my country and therefore of humanity."
"...If I have to be reborn, I should be born as an untouchable so that I may share their sorrows, sufferings and the affronts leveled at them, in order that I may endeavor to free myself and them from that miserable condition.

Bush on the Constitution: 'It's just a goddamned piece of paper'
By DOUG THOMPSON Dec 9, 2005
Last month, Republican Congressional leaders filed into the Oval Office to meet with President George W. Bush and talk about renewing the controversial USA Patriot Act. Several provisions of the act, passed in the shell shocked period immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, caused enough anger that liberal groups like the American Civil Liberties Union had joined forces with prominent conservatives like Phyllis Schlafly and Bob Barr to oppose renewal. GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court. “I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.” “Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.” “Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!” I’ve talked to three people present for the meeting that day and they all confirm that the President of the United States called the Constitution “a goddamned piece of paper.”
